What an epic weekend we just had

Main Event winner saw Imran Majid return to top form as he really tore through the field to get to the final. With a 6-1 lead over JJ Faul in the final, Imran didn’t count on JJ making a hugely impressive fightback to lead 8-7 over the shell-shocked Imran. However, Imran’s experience saw him regain his composure, whilst JJ felt the heat and it went to hill hill.

The final rack swung to Imran, then to JJ, but finally back to Imran who then finished the job in what was one of the most exciting finals seen at the rebooted GB9.

On the Sunday, the Tier 2 final was contested between Dimi Teriajevas and Ben Clare. Ben has been displaying some unreal improvements over the past year and he really showed off what hard work can do for you, and dominated the final to win 9-4.

Tier 1 was absolutely full of talent. It’s been described as one of the hardest competitions to win because just about every competitor stands a chance. In the end, Paul Williams and Michael Sagar fought it out, with Paul showing why he’s a feared competitor by winning 9-5.

And finally, the Pro Tier final saw the top 16 from the main event go toe to toe, and with a slightly different format as it’s winner break format. The two finalists, Michael Hope and Phil Wildman played out a very close final where momentum swung towards Michael to gain an early lead. But Phil is a wily operator, and found his touch and got back into the match. Could have gone either way, but Phil dug in and finished the job to run 11-9.

A very high standard of pool throughout these finals, bearing in mind the pockets have been shrunk to just under 4″, really exposing every little flaw.

We would like to thank everyone at @spots8stripesredhill for their hospitality and we look forward to our next event, to be held May 1-3rd.
